Night night God bless mum

Our love will not cease when you pass
When our tears have dried we will not forget you
When your eyes finally rest, you will still be with us

When you are rested, we will still spend time with you
You have placed a thousand and more memories deep inside us
The moments of love and compassion you have given entrench us

In our happy moments you will come to us
In our solitude you will keep us company
When we worry or are fearful you will smile upon us

For all that I do from today, you will come with me
my thoughts and my moments will be shared with you
In your honour and memory you live with me

You are my fabric, you are the fibres I am made from
Your smile, your laugh and your dance are inside me
You will continue in me, as I continue in my children

I thank you for everything
May I learn to be as patient, as caring and as selfless as you
I am forever yours

Doing stuff is fun

Buying things and having things I wouldn't class as thrilling

It's doing, making, giving things that truly is fulfilling

Summer lovin'

If a UK summer was something
you paid for every year
then I think we've been had over
or the price we pay 's too dear

The trade description states
warm and sunny days
BBQ friendly evenings
and beach fun, catching rays

But all we've seen so recent
is the rare occasional spot
of warm and dry but overcast
not something close to hot

In the summer days when we were young
for six weeks, out we'd play
and t-shirt off and water fights
were the order of the day

If the benefits implied
By global warming hysteria
Don't arrive next summer time
Then I'm moving to Nigeria
