Head you, Kate shone

I don't hold extreme views because I like arguments
But I do so to be contentious
I harbour in the extreme
And confess in being pretentious

I do so to create a debate
In a subject where my knowledge is hollow
I challenge the opinions given
and absorb the exchange that follows

I learnt this at an early age
It's something I have always being doing
I was labelled a chatty kid
But conversations were key for my schooling

My learning type leans to the aural
In my life I’ve read few books
Sure a web page can hold my attention
But a novel just too too much

Reading sends me to sleep
English lit was a massive struggle
A book would take many sittings
Home reading was the cause of much trouble

At school I just asked questions
My hand regularly aloft
I needed the two way interchange
Or the facts of the day would be lost

Some may have thought me tedious
Linking of the sound of my own voice
But I know now looking back
To pass exams I had no choice

I chose art, psychology and design
And probably not down to a flair
More for the interaction
For books I did not care

I'm now aware of learning styles
And playing to my stengths
I no longer bother with the linear
There's no point in going such lengths

I read in small amounts every day
But rarely little more than a page
But thankfully technology helps me
God bless the digital age

I listen to audio books
To get information into head
I consume 20 hours a week
In my car, my desk or bed

I draw upon forums regularly
To help me advance my learning
As I do have a passion for knowledge
And see the link to my earnings

I move swiftly through http links
Navigate faster than a Dewey based system
Get in, get facts, get out
Summarise save them and list them

You tube must also be mentioned
Tutorial videos are a must
I learn the fastest of all
When I see and hear a tutor I trust

Google has become the doormat
For the infinite library of all
I no longer sleep when I'm studying
I no longer bang my head on the wall

And my message if there is one
Is one for the future and that's
for anybody who struggles with the system
There's a shed load of ways to skin cats.
