The sampler

Don't strain your self in search of a fix
Looking so hard for individual licks
Trying to find some new kind of kicks
When the whole of life is a mashed up remix

Hold the beat stop the beat drop the beat
Reworking a classic may not seem a feat
But a billion years on why even compete
To replicate or sample is really not deceit

If you claim to belong to the original few
Who believe your ideas just belong to you
You've put it on paper or canvass thats true
But your conscious is influenced by all you've been through

And all you've been through has been through by others
Musicians, painters, thinkers and lovers
So when you next pat your back for concepts discovered
Know it's been thought, by those just above us

So I'll mimic and copy, recut and sample
Call it my own, an original example
Of something so clearly copied and ripped
Remastered re-rendered clipped and snipped
